Many aspects of college students from today and the past are what one could obviously say as being different, one such aspect would be the clothing college students wear. The styles of clothing from then, are much different then what they are now.
Todays college student can be seen wearing just about anything to school, pajamas, walking around shirtless, or unbelievably revealing clothes. In the past students could have been seen wearing, shorts shorts on men, outrageous high heels, or large hoop earrings. But this in time has changed to what it is now. Many things are expressed by the type of clothes a person wears but one ideal that is similar to both is the freedom to express yourself through what you wear.
But this can also be seen in an exactly opposite way that if everyone is following the need to express themselves through freedom that they are all doing the exact opposite. Other meanings can also be derived from clothing, such as the wearing pajamas to class that so many college students do nowadays. It is simply just done because a college student is a usually a busy individual with a busy schedule, and not having to worry about what you're wearing is just one way to say "i dont care what i look like right now, I'm tired". Short shorts on men back in the 60's were worn at the time because they were acceptable, and in the eyes of the world today they are stereotypically only worn by gay individuals. But it can be seen today that many styles of the past are making comebacks, such as the large hoop earings that could be seen worn by many ladies of the past.
In general college students of today dress with a more relaxed attitude with less thought contributed to what everyone else will think. Though it appears that todays college students dress in a very much so lax manner it will be ever changing and the clothing and style that is worn today will continue evolving.
